    Travel Australia this Easter

With Christmas now a distant memory, the next holiday on a travellers list is surely Easter. While the hot cross buns and the chocolate bunnies may have been purchased, the all-important trip away could be left to the last minute. Thankfully there are scores of places right here in Australia perfect for the long weekend away. A personal travel manager can help you on your holiday hunt and steer you away from the mountains of chocolate!

    Hobart

Hobart is an easy target for travellers seeking a quick weekend away. The history of Hobart ensures interesting sights and tours while the premium food offerings mean stomachs will be well and truly lined. The Salamanca Markets are a must see and should be high on the itinerary. The markets play host to over 300 food stalls and are home to buskers and musicians who all add to the overall market vibrancy. Tasmania is fast emerging as a whiskey hub with distilleries from the island state winning awards around the globe. The Sullivan’s Cove distillery recently picked up the title of ‘The World’s Best Single Malt Whiskey’ at the World Whiskey Awards. For those more inclined to take a sweeter route, there is always the Cadbury Factory.

    Kangaroo Island

When the time comes for a holiday it can be a toss up between an urban escape or a bush retreat. For fans of the latter option, Kangaroo Island is ideal. The bushland, wildlife and sense of adventure are perfect for the budding bushman. Little known by many are the high quality surfing beaches available on Kangaroo Island. The southern side of the island can offer the best waves with minimal crowds. If jumping into cold southern waters doesn’t appeal, there are still plenty of land based activities. A trip to Paul’s Place Wildlife Sanctuary can offer up a close experience with some of Australia’s best known animals. To help get the adrenaline pumping, there’s also quad biking through the winding bush trails.

    Darwin

As Darwin leaves the wet season and enters into the dry season, Easter fast becomes the perfect time to visit Darwin before the crowds arrive. There’s plenty to do outdoors during a trip to Darwin with activities ranging from the strenuous to the relaxing. A walk through Darwin’s nature parks is lovely with Berry Creek an ideal spot to take in the natural fish and the aquatic life of Darwin. For travellers looking slightly further afield, Litchfield National Park is worth a visit. For a slower pace, there is the famous Mindil Beach Markets where the mix of cultures come to play. At the end of it all, a relaxing movie at the Deckchair outdoor cinemas is the perfect way to unwind and relax.

    Adelaide

It can be hard to find a location that will please the kids while still offering the adults some downtime. Thankfully Adelaide is nearby for weary parents and wonder eyed children. A trip out to the Barossa Valley just outside of Adelaide can cater to the adult’s tastes with award winning wineries and restaurants. The Samphire Winery can cater to both camps with the adults able to sample stunning wines and the kids able to take part in pottery classes. Once the wine tasting is done, the designated driver can lead the troupe back to Adelaide for a meal at Adelaide’s renowned pizzeria, Goodlife. This small establishment has earned a name as one of the best pizzerias in Australia and its duck pizza has pizza lovers calling it the best in Australia. After the food and wine component has been ticked off, a trip to the Giant Rocking Horse and Toy Factory can help win over the kids and ensure everyone has the break they need.
