Hvar The island of Hvar is one of the most popular attractions along the Croatian coastline. Frequented by Beyoncé, Jay Z and Prince Harry, Hvar is a popular destination for yachts sailing around the Adriatic, particularly during the warmer summer months. For the avid partiers, the choices are endless. From Carpe Diem to Veneranda and all the local cafes and bars in between, there’s never an excuse to not have a good time. Korcula The sixth largest Croatian island, Korcula, is separated from the Peljesac peninsula by a narrow strait of Peljesac, between 900 and 3,000 metres wide. The island’s capital is also called Korcula. Nicknamed ”Little Dubrovnik”, this ancient city is among the most beautiful towns on the Croatian coast and is known for its unique architecture. One of the main attractions is the alleged house of birth of Marco Polo. The largest and most beautiful building of Korcula is the Cathedral of St. Marco, built in Gothic-Renaissance style and completed in the 15th century.
Vis Vis is an ideal romantic hideaway. As well as tucking yourself away on one of its numerous spectacular and secluded bays, you can also tour the island discovering its extensive vineyards, local seafood and wine. The many family owned restaurants only use local produce and pride themselves on not steering far from traditional recipes passed down by generations.
Zadar You may not have heard as much about Zadar as other coastal towns, but you should have. A lively cafe scene and bustling market bring this little town to life. This marble and sandstone historic town follows the old Roman street plan, complete with ruins that will amaze any onlooker as does its nightlife. Walks along the many beaches or strolls through the center of the city along the Kalelarga (main road) will have you in awe for more. One of Zadar’s most surprising features is one of the world’s only sea organs. Tourists can enjoy a series of pipes cut into the promenade, that produce organ-like sounds created by the movement of the ocean.
Zrce If you want to party, you need look no further than the Novalja on the island of Pag. It is a popular summer escape that hosts Croatia’s largest party scene. Zrce is a long, stretched, white-pebbled beach with crystal clear sea. The beach has numerous facilities and three popular open-air clubs offer entertainment until the early hours of the morning. Aquarius and Papaya are outfits from Zagreb’s popular clubs, and there is also beach-bar Kalypso. The cocktails, summer sun and endless array of activities including bungee jumping and jet skiing will keep all travellers entertained for days on end.
