The USA is the third largest country in the world. The USA has many amazing cities, full of landmarks recognised internationally that many people only dream of visiting. It’s hard to fit the entire country into one holiday and see everything you want to see. So here are the 7 top US cities, guaranteed to get you excited!

    1. New York

Most people would agree that New York is one of the most intriguing cities not only in the US, but in the entire world. This is why it should be at the very top of your ‘to do’ list when visiting the States. What makes New York so fascinating is its Manhattan-style architecture, and the mix of people and culture throughout the city streets. Nowhere else in the world will you find so many restaurants, hotels, museums and theatres in one city! The possibilities New York brings to the table are endless and it truly is the city that never sleeps. Whatever your passion is – culture, entertainment or food, you’ll find it here. Take a stroll through Central Park, see the Yankees hit some home runs, climb the Empire State Building or visit the Met museum. New York offers endless shopping options, and of course a trip to Time Square should be a priority. Don’t forget that besides Manhattan, there are four other boroughs in New York with plenty of things to do and to see. New York will simply amaze you.

    2. Los Angeles

Hollywood, Sunset Boulevard and Malibu all have to be on the ‘must visit’ list while you’re visiting the US. You’ll find them all in Los Angeles.  Apart from being filled with celebrities, and the backdrop for many blockbuster movies, LA is a fantastic place to visit and enjoy! Besides famous attractions and intensive nightlife, Los Angeles has great surroundings to explore. Just take a road trip to Santa Barbara or Newport and you’ll witness the breathtaking beauty of Southern California. LA has a great shopping atmosphere, from high end fashion to street markets, with bargains galore! Visiting Disneyland would be a highlight for the youngsters, and there’s also the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Venice beach or the Hollywood Hills.

    3. Washington DC

The US capital is particularly beautiful in spring, when its many gardens are in bloom. While visiting the White House, take the White House Garden Tour and view the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden – absolutely splendid and you’ll get some great photos. DC is great as the majority of the museums and memorials are free, so it’s an easy city to visit for a fraction of the price that the bigger cities charge. Take a ride to the top of the Washington Monument to see spectacular views of the city and surroundings. Make sure you take a walk through the cobblestone streets of Georgetown, the city’s most beautiful neighbourhood with great restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and shops. Just make sure you don’t forget your camera!

    4. Seattle

If you think that Seattle is all about rain and dreary weather, you couldn’t be more wrong. The Emerald City is a real experience, rich with evergreen trees throughout, and breathtaking views of the Cascade Mountains to the east and the Olympic mountains to the West. You could climb to the top of the Space Needle to enjoy a panoramic view of the city, have a lunch at a sidewalk café in Pike Street Market and immerse yourself in the culture and surroundings of Seattle, all the while marvelling at the view. For even a better view of the city, take a ride on the ferry and see the city from afar.

    5. Las Vegas

Las Vegas or Sin City, is filled with casinos, luxury resorts and five star hotels, outstanding dining and acclaimed shows, exclusive spas and world-class golf courses. You can’t skip Vegas whilst visiting the US, it would be a Sin! Many people who have visited this interesting city describe it as a place like no other, a world of its own, making it an intriguing part of the world. Vegas is in close proximity to the Grand Canyon, which is the most famous natural feature in the US.  No doubt that must be a priority destination whilst in Vegas. If you don’t fancy the long drive, why not take a helicopter ride and fly right over the top, a once-in-a-lifetime experience offering some of the most magnificent views you will ever see! Visit Wet Republic and enjoy one of their many pool parties, or simply shop til you drop. Drop a few dollars at the casino or enjoy a cabaret show. Vegas offers endless fun, and once you leave, you will never forget it.

    6. San Francisco

Just a hop, skip and a jump away from LA, San Francisco’s famous steep hills and trolley cars, astonishing bay views, and numerous beautiful gardens make this city very unique and one of the most beautiful and enjoyable destinations in the country. From the moment you lay eyes on the famous Golden Gate Bridge, you will be hooked. Ride the trolley cars around while discovering some of San Fran’s amazing eateries. Whilst here, take a trip to the famous Napa Valley for a glass of wine or two, while enjoying the breathtaking scenery of wine country. Or if wine isn’t your forte, visit Lake Tahoe, to see ‘The Jewel of the Sierras’, one of the most beautiful lakes in the country

    7. Miami

Miami, Florida, is 10 miles of beautiful white sandy beaches, trendy art deco architecture, chic restaurants and one crazy party scene. Miami has a large Latin American cultural influence, and if you don’t have a chance to visit Cuba, a short trip to Little Havana in Miami could give you a little glimpse of the Caribbean Island, with the aroma of Cuban coffee and cigars, vivacious Cuban music, art and craft, and colourful storefronts. Enjoy your time shopping and relaxing under the Miami sun. If you’re really keen to party, pay a visit during Spring Break when all the college kids hit up the city to party all night and sleep all day. If you’re visiting for a few days and are keen to explore the surrounding areas, a good idea is to rent a car and go to Key West for a couple of days. Key West is an absolute paradise, but is also a beautiful drive with stunning scenery of the coast the entire way.
