    Alaska at your fingertips

Take a ride through an Alaskan forest in the snow or float down the Chena River – all from your own armchair

With so many of us stuck at home, virtual vacations are a great option for anyone with itchy feet and frustrated travel plans. Fairbanks Alaska are offering five brand new virtual experiences, including a dog sled ride through a snowy forest, a float down the Chena River or a chance to see the Northern Lights. Who cares what season we are in? With a virtual vacation, it’s possible to mix and match your favourites!

    Alaska fairbanks

Explore Fairbanks’ immersive 360-degree stills and videos, which have the power to virtually transport you to Alaska’s Golden Heart and explore like never before. Further experiences include a visit to Eagle Summit, where the sun never dips below the horizon on June 21 (summer solstice), a captivating Aurora show, the iconic downtown Fairbanks Antler Arch, and more.

How well-researched we will all be when we’re finally able to visit these places. Perhaps you cheechakos can even learn some of the local lingo.

Crystalbrook Collection launches ‘At Home with Crystalbrook’

Would you like to learn how to brew the perfect kombucha or make a killer pumpkin hummus? Australian hospitality company Crystalbrook Collection is opening up its secrets on its ‘At Home with Crystalbrook’ hub, designed to inspire eager travellers whilst they wait for the travel ban to lift.

Five-star experiences are what you will find at Crystalbrook’s Collection, from poolside yoga set in their Cairns resort to rainforest walks from their Byron Bay resort, The Byron at Byron. Resident chef Minh is hosting virtual cooking classes to instruct on making a kombucha or a sourdough. Or for a Queensland flavour, Riley’s restaurants in Cairns will let you in on their secret to a killer pumpkin hummus or a Pad Ka Pro.

The children are catered for with Crystalbrook’s Earth Kids, which shows how to build a bee hotel or make a healthy picnic lunch – perfect timing for Mother’s Day.

    Take Crystalbrook Home

Those taking part at home will have the chance to win a Crystalbrook Care Kit filled with some of the hotels’ signature amenities, valued at over $180. Simply snap a pic and share to Facebook or Instagram, tagging @crystalbrookcollection and #AtHomeWithCrystalbrook. A new winner will be announced each Friday.
