Renowned for its lush bamboo jungles, adventurous trails and an away-from-it-all experience, the Golden Triangle brings together cultures and showcases the diversity of not just Thailand, but also its neighbours – Myanmar and Laos. With just a gurgling Ruak River to separate the borders, guests who “glamp” at the exclusive hillside accommodation at Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle have the ideal vantage point to explore the fascinating experiences put together by the Camp’s team of experts.

“With our all-inclusive two, three and four night adventure packages, we give guests an opportunity to truly immerse in the local culture,” shares Tobias Emmer, Camp Manager. “These new experiences are a mix of adventure, cultural exploration and relaxation, tailormade for your style of travel. Stay a little longer and experience more.”

    Hillside Bicycle Tour
“The serenity of the local villages in the Golden Triangle is second to none, especially Chiang Saen where the Camp is located,” shares Tobias. Ideal for cycling enthusiasts, this guided tour follows a paved but hilly trail that includes a few challenging slopes. The route takes guests through lush green paddy fields, pineapple and rubber plantations, and a teak forest. “Look for the local farmers as they go about their daily routines, and for some stunning views of the mountains beyond. Take a breather at Bua Luang Lake before heading back to the Camp,” he adds.

    Picnic by the River
Enjoy a picnic-style feast deep in the bamboo jungle, by the river, or even in the wooded gardens. “Our Camp Chef Pisan Torphet can pack a delicious selection of Thai or Western snacks to enjoy as you soak in the calm along Ruak River,” he recommends.

    Jungle Cocktails and Riverside Dinner
In a discreet setting by the river, guests can savour camp-style cocktails and a BBQ dinner for a stunning evening out with loved ones. Riding out to the “Jungle Peninsula” in the Camp’s fully-restored Land Rover, the setting sun makes a spectacular retreat across the Ruak River and into Myanmar, adding the perfect mood for the evening.
