InterContinental Hayman Island introduces Reef Friendly Sunscreen

In response to World Ocean Day earlier this month, InterContinental Hayman Island has announced a new initiative in its on-going pledge to protect the oceans and Great Barrier Reef.

The luxury hotel is set to open July 1, and will supply all guests with exclusive access to reef-safe sunscreens. The eco-friendly sunscreen, We Are Feel Good Inc., is proudly Australian-owned, and unlike many other commercially available sunscreens, We Are Feel Good Inc. use ingredients scientifically proven to prevent harm to the Great Barrier Reef’s eco-system.

The InterContinental Hayman Island are committed to providing a luxury experience to their guests without compromising the beautiful surroundings on land and in the ocean. They have implemented a ban on single-use plastics, an on-island glass to sand crusher (creates a silicone ‘sand’ that can be used in the gardens), in-room motion-detecting thermal technology to reduce energy consumption when guests are out, reusable Hayman Island bottles for purchase and more.

There is no better way to enjoy the immense beauty of the Whitsundays than in eco-luxe style with InterContinental Hayman Island.
