The Langham, Venice is set to open in 2023 and marks the first property in Italy for this luxury group. Located on the island of Murano, the 138-room hotel was once the Casino Mocenigo and has direct frontage to the Venetian lagoon.
Milan-based architecture and design studio Matteo Thun & Partners are in charge of bringing the building out of the 1600s. One of the stand out features they will work on is the courtyard which will showcase the outdoor swimming pool and garden as well as inviting outdoor dining spaces.
There will be two restaurants serving a selection of cuisines and a cooking school where guests can learn the art of fine Italian cuisine. Alfresco bars, one of which will be located on the rooftop, will set the scene for social celebrations, large and small.
Also featured at the hotel will be the group’s signature Chuan Spa offering wellness therapies and treatments based on the ancient healing philosophies of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM,) a fully-equipped fitness centre, an elegant ballroom, and multifunction rooms.
The Langham, Venice will be close to attractions including the Basilica dei Santa Maria e San Donato, the Mueso del Vetro (glass museum) and renowned foundries that have existed for centuries and are still producing high quality artisanal pieces by glass maestros.
The Langham, Venice is a significant breakthrough in the European expansion strategy of Langham Hospitality Group joining the flagship of The Langham, London and The Langham Nymphenburg Residence, Munich. There are 30 prime future locations for The Langham brand in the pipeline including hotels and residences in Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, San Francisco, Jakarta, Gold Coast, and Chengdu.
