I just got back from an unforgettable trip to Bali, and I can’t wait to share what an incredible experience it was. From savoring delicious street food to meeting local songket weavers, every day brought something new. One of the most breathtaking moments was hiking up Mt. Batur before dawn to catch the sunrise—seeing the sky light up all the way to Mt. Rinjani was magical. I also found peace in the quiet village of Undisan, far away from the usual crowds, and ventured through Ubud’s lush green heart to glimpse real village life.
The trip was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation—cycling through rice fields, hiking, snorkeling in clear waters, and still having plenty of time to just unwind. Bali truly has it all, and this journey left me completely inspired.
Visited Gunung Kawi Sebatu Temple in Ubud for a peaceful purification ritual — such a beautiful and calming spot surrounded by lush greenery and flowing spring water. The whole experience felt really grounding and spiritual, like hitting reset. Already felt the stress melt away and the Bali magic kicking in.
Not your average Bali day! Took a 2-hour bike ride through the Ubud countryside — riding through quiet backstreets, local villages, and stunning rice fields. The ride was mostly downhill (thankfully) with plenty of photo stops and even a visit to some beautifully carved little temples. After lunch, we headed up into the hills to the peaceful village of Sidemen, with Mt Agung watching over us in the distance. Such a cool way to see a different side of Bali — off the beaten path and totally worth it.
Started the day with a peaceful morning walk through Undisan’s rice terraces — stopping by local craftspeople, village temples, and soaking up the lush scenery. Had a tasty traditional ‘bungkus’ lunch before heading off to Sibetan Village. Got a warm welcome from the village chief and settled into our homestay. Spent the afternoon just taking it slow — wandering the village and relaxing. There was also the option to join a local cooking class and learn the secrets behind Balinese spices. Ended the day with a delicious homemade dinner featuring salak (snake fruit), lovingly prepared by the locals. Such a special experience.
One of the biggest travel highlights for me so far! Despite the 3am wake-up, today was unforgettable. We did a guided sunrise hike up Mt Batur and were lucky with clear skies — the views at the top were absolutely spectacular. You could even see across to Mt Rinjani in Lombok. Totally worth the early start and the 1.5-hour climb in the dark. After the hike, we relaxed in natural hot springs with epic views over the lake and crater. Wrapped up the day heading down to the chill coastal town of Lovina. What a day!
An epic way to wrap up our 7-day Bali adventure! Today we snorkelled in the crystal-clear waters of Jemeluk Coral Bay, explored a Japanese shipwreck, and floated above the iconic USAT Liberty wreck in Tulamben. The underwater views were next level — colourful fish everywhere, vibrant coral, and even a chilled-out sea turtle cruising by.
This whole trip has been such a beautiful deep dive into what Bali is really about. It’s so much more than beaches and sunsets — it’s rich in culture, full of adventure, surrounded by stunning nature, and home to some of the kindest people.
From cycling through rice paddies and hiking volcanoes to soaking in hot springs and sharing meals with locals — Bali has a little magic for everyone.
