I'm Debra. I love cruising, great food and fine wine, and have a keen interest in quilting and paper crafts. My goal for my clients is to get the best travel experience at the best possible value.
My love of travel comes from being posted to the United Kingdom (twice) during my father’s career: he was a Qantas pilot and and my brothers and I travelled the world since we were very young.
I delight in building holiday experiences for clients who want more than a click-and-book trip; my goal in taking the time to find out what you really want and need for your holiday is to help you plan the perfect trip. I’ve travelled to many destinations in the last few years, and I love to share the benefit of my experiences.
In 2009, my husband and I started our own travel company, Admiral Travel. We specialised in cruise voyages as well as gourmet wine and food tours. We soon found that running a business in a fixed place was very limiting. Since December 2010, I have run a successful virtual travel office with the support of TravelManagers Australia. Having the freedom of mobility allows me to catch up with my clients at a time and place to suit them.
I have seen some amazing sights around the world: from Venice’s ancient canals to the modern art of the Guggenheim Museum in New York, and the quirky Gaudi buildings in Barcelona.
My first cruise voyage, in 2005, was aboard Holland America’s Maasdam. I was fearful about becoming sea sick, so we chose a cruise which started in the St Lawrence River in Quebec, Canada. We boarded in Montreal, and disembarked in Boston. I fell in love with the idea of a ‘travelling resort’: being transported to a new destination each day, with all our meals, accommodation and entertainment thrown in (and someone to make the beds)! I was hooked. The following year we cruised from Miami to Barcelona aboard Royal Caribbean International’s Voyager of the Seas. Since then I have cruised almost 30 different voyages, including 3 river cruises.
When I am not cruising, I enjoy visiting different cities around the world, experiencing the culture and vibrancy on offer. I always try to find local experiences so that I get a real flavour of the place. Public transport is usually a great way to get around.
Theme parks are another of my must-dos: I’ve visited each of the Disney parks at least once – except Japan and Shanghai – as well as Universal Studios in LA and Singapore.
I love Singapore and Taipei – currently these are my two favourite Asian cities that I’ve visited. For history, culture and food, each of these cities has a great deal to offer. Both are clean and have plenty of English signage. While English is not widely spoken in Taiwan, it is not difficult to make yourself understood.
Fabric shopping in both these cities is a fine art – one that I would love to introduce you to.
In Europe, I find it hard to pick a favourite country or destination as each has its own style. France, Italy and Spain are my favourite three.
Of course, any destination that includes a Disney Theme Park is very high on my list!
New from 2017: I am offering small-group escorted tours around the world which combine my love of travel and quilting and scrapbooking. Upcoming tours include Paducah Quilt Festival (USA), Houston Quilt Festival (USA), Singapore and Taiwan (touring and fabric shopping). Future projects are tours to the UK and Dubai (quilt festivals).

From pre-planning to the day final documents are delivered, I am passionate about helping my clients create their dream trips. They know they can rely on me to find the best possible value for them, whatever their budget. A great benefit of having a virtual office is that I can meet my clients wherever and whenever it suits them: at home, or work, or at a coffee shop (we have some excellent coffee shops in Port Macquarie, and I think I’ve tried most of them!).
Or, if it suits, I will deal with a client totally online. I offer the same products that you would find in a store or online – except I offer them with first-class service! I am dedicated to making the planning process of your trip stress-free, leaving you to simply enjoy your trip! And best of all, my clients know they can call me at any time, day or night, if they need me while they are away on holidays.
What’s more, if I am away travelling, you have peace of mind knowing your travel plans are in safe hands – I am contactable just about anywhere in the world, and I have trusted colleagues who look after my business when I am not able to be contacted.
