My love of travel comes from being posted to the United Kingdom (twice) during my father’s career: he was a Qantas pilot and and my brothers and I have travelled the world since we were very young.
I delight in building holiday experiences for clients who want more than a click-and-book trip; taking the time to find out what you really want and need out of your holiday, and helping to plan the perfect trip with you. I’ve travelled to many destinations in the last few years, so I can share the benefit of my experiences.
In 2009, my husband and I started our own travel company, Admiral Travel. We specialised in cruise voyages as well as gourmet wine and food tours. We soon found that running a business in a fixed place was very limiting. Since December 2010, I have run a successful virtual travel office with the support of TravelManagers Australia, which allows me to catch up with my clients at a time and place to suit them.
My husband and I have seen some amazing sights around the world: from Venice’s ancient canals to the modern art of the Guggenheim Museum in New York, and the quirky Gaudi buildings in Barcelona.
Our first cruise voyage, in 2005, was aboard Holland America’s Maasdam. I was fearful about becoming sea sick, so we chose a cruise which started in the St Lawrence River in Quebec, Canada. We boarded in Montreal, and disembarked in Boston. We fell in love with the idea of a ‘travelling resort’: being transported to a new destination each day, with all our meals, accommodation and entertainment thrown in (and someone to make the beds)! We were hooked. The following year we cruised from Miami to Barcelona aboard Royal Caribbean International’s Voyager of the Seas. Since then we have done more than 20 different cruises, including 3 river cruises.
When we are not cruising, we enjoy visiting different cities around the world, experiencing the culture and vibrancy on offer. We always try to find local experiences so that we get a real flavour of the place. Public transport is usually a great way to get around.
Disney theme parks are another of our loves. We’ve visited each of them, except Japan; and also Universal Studios in LA and Singapore.
From pre-planning to the day final documents are delivered, I am passionate about helping my clients create their dream trips. They know they can rely on me to find the best possible value for them, whatever their budget. A great benefit of having a virtual office is that I can meet my clients wherever and whenever it suits them: at home, or work, or at a coffee shop (we have some excellent coffee shops in Port Macquarie, and I think I’ve tried most of them!).
Or, if it suits, I will deal with a client totally online. I offer the same products that you would find in a store or online – except I offer them with first-class service! I am dedicated to making the planning process of your trip stress-free, leaving you to simply enjoy your trip! And best of all, my clients know they can call me at any time, day or night, if they need me while they are away on holidays.
