How did I get into travel? My 2 main loves are travel and languages. I grew up in Auckland and when I was 11 I went on a month’s school exchange to New Caledonia. I had been studying French for a year and could understand most of what was said to me but couldn’t communicate back properly. This frustration led me on to study languages at school and then university and between my BA and MA I won a 3 month scholarship to study at Stuttgart university in Germany. During that time I travelled extensively within Europe and thus began my passion for travel.
After spending 22 years in the same “bricks and mortar” agency, I decided it was time for a more flexible work/life balance and I set up as a Personal Travel Manager working from my home office. This gives me more flexibility to meet clients for coffee at any time of day to discuss their travel needs plus get back to playing tennis during the day instead of at night!
I’ve travelled extensively within Asia, Europe, the USA and have cruised South America, New Zealand, around Australia and Alaska.
