I remember the day I got bitten by that little thing called the ‘travel bug’. My Step-Dad won a karaoke competition singing La Bamba by Ritchie Valens. The prize was a week skiing to Mammoth Mountain California and finishing off in Disneyland – the happiest place in Earth (even though I did cry there) I will leave that with you to ask me about that one! I have many memories from this holiday.. and I was only 8 years old.
Through my teenage years, I loved watching The Great Outdoors and Getaway.. always dreaming of going to all the destinations on TV. I had an opportunity at 15 years old to go to Bali with my Indonesian teacher and 3 other classmates. Wow – this was my first taste of ‘culture shock’! I will be forever grateful to my teacher who taught me to open my eyes to the different ways of life in this world, to not be afraid to get out of comfort zone and to always experience the true culture and people of the places I visit.
Fast forward to when I was 21 years old. My best friend and I did a Contiki Tour through Europe. Such a whirlwind but one of the best things I have ever done, as this led me down the path of wanting a career in travel.
I started working in retail travel at 22 years old and have not looked back.
12 years on, I now have two little children and have taken them on some great family adventures in our own beautiful country to cruising through the Mediterranean. I can help you get the most out of your holiday if you have children (no matter what age) as I have been there!
So, whether you are on your own, planning your honeymoon or have a family, let me help you make some special memories that you can look back on in years to come!
