Fiji Airways Business Class A350 Review

Fiji Airways Business Class A350 Review

This Fiji Airways Business Class A350 review covers our direct LAX to Nadi flight, highlighting the quiet, smooth aircraft, exceptional Fijian hospitality and a genuinely comfortable long-haul experience.

Whilst I get to travel often enough across a range of Airlines, I have never felt the need to write a review, yet here I am, posting my personal opinion on an airline that blew me away for all the right reasons!
You will be able to find much prettier reviews than this, but I assure you, my strengths lay in creating travel memories for my wonderful clients, not blog writing.

Fiji Airways Business Class A350 Review: Cabin, Service & Comfort

Flying long haul can either leave you exhausted or surprisingly refreshed, and on our recent Fiji Airways Business Class flight aboard the Airbus A350, it was very much the latter. From the moment we settled into our seats until touchdown in Fiji, this flight stood out for all the right reasons, an exceptionally smooth and quiet aircraft, thoughtful service, and genuine Fijian hospitality.

The Route & Aircraft
We flew direct from Los Angeles (LAX) to Nadi (NAN), a journey of approximately 10 hours. Operating on the Airbus A350, the experience immediately felt elevated. The A350 is known for its advanced design, and it truly shows, the aircraft was noticeably quiet, incredibly smooth, and far easier on the body compared to older wide-body jets.
This made a real difference when it came to fatigue and jetlag. We arrived feeling rested, comfortable, and far more human than usual after a flight of this length.

Fiji Airways Business Class Seating

Business Class Cabin & Seating
We were seated in Business Class, Row 17, and the cabin felt calm, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out. The seat itself was comfortable and supportive, with plenty of room to relax, work, or sleep. Everything felt intuitive, from the layout to the storage, making it easy to settle in quickly alongside fast wifi access. Regular Business travellers will note the highly regarded Collins Aerospace Super Diamond layout, with its herringbone design creating a sense of privacy, without the levelling up of cabin doors.

Fijian hospitality at its finest

Service That Truly Stood Out
While the aircraft impressed, it was the service and hospitality that truly made this flight memorable. Fiji Airways is known for its warmth, but this experience went above and beyond, especially when it came to how the crew treated my child.

As a frequent flyer, I am used to the fast paced airline world, and, as a parent, I’m usually quick to step in and assist, knowing how busy cabin crew are. On this flight, however, one crew member gently took the lead without hesitation. She slowed down to chat with my son, took extra time during his meal service, and made him feel genuinely included and cared for.

What stood out most was that, prior to descent, she came and sat with him, asked him fun questions, shared a few laughs, and then asked for a hug. It was such a simple moment, but one that speaks volumes about the culture onboard. It never felt rushed or performative,  just kind, attentive, and sincere.

Dining at 35,000 Feet
The onboard dining was excellent across the board. Every meal felt thoughtfully curated and beautifully presented, with flavours that were fresh, balanced, and genuinely enjoyable. A service of placing the table cloth down, followed by a tea light (battery) candle and a handcrafted Vau flower made by local artists felt like the airline was truly breathing its culture onboard. These were top-tier dining options, well above what many expect from inflight meals, and something we genuinely looked forward to throughout the journey.
During the sleep hours, the service did not stop. On this airline, more than many others I have flown recently, there was always someone walking through the cabin in a calm manner every 15-20 minutes. You rarely needed to look for someone as their presence was near and ready to assist

Sustainability & Thoughtful Touches
One detail I particularly appreciated was Fiji Airways’ approach to sustainability. Instead of traditional amenity kits, the crew walked through the cabin with a basket of essentials, eye masks, toothbrush kits, ear plugs and socks,  allowing passengers to select what they actually needed.
In addition, we were gifted two small bottles of Italian skincare, which the crew individually explained how to use and what they were designed for. It felt personal and aligned with the airline’s commitment to reducing waste while still delivering a premium experience. This approach really stood out as a meaningful step toward more sustainable flying.

Inflight Entertainment
The inflight entertainment system was strong, offering a wide selection of new releases and classic movies and TV shows, with options suitable for both adults and children.
One feature we loved was the two aircraft camera views, allowing us to watch take off and landing either from the front wheel bay or from the tail of the aircraft, a small but fun detail that added to the overall experience. I kept my AV Geek heart happy.
The Fijian Makers episodes were also a great way to learn more about the Fijian culture and what goes into bringing the Fijian culture to the Airline

My thoughts as a Personal Travel Manager

Who This Flight Is Perfect For
We travelled as a family, and Fiji Airways made that experience seamless and genuinely enjoyable. That said, this product isn’t just for families. Fiji Airways Business Class is also a strong option for corporate and solo travellers looking for a refined yet welcoming long-haul experience.
An added bonus for Australian travellers is that Fiji Airways can be booked using Qantas points, making this an excellent value option for those looking to burn points without compromising on comfort or service.

Fiji Airways run regular services throughout Australia, NZ, the South West Pacific, Japan, Hong Kong, Canada and USA to name a few.

Final Verdict
Would I fly Fiji Airways again? In a heartbeat.
The combination of the A350 aircraft, exceptional service, genuine hospitality, and thoughtful details made this flight something truly special. It’s a reminder that when an airline gets both the hardware and the human element right, the journey becomes part of the holiday.
