Paris may have had it’s problems in recent times but it is still an amazing place to visit. I can honestly say I feel just as safe here as anywhere else in the world. I had a wonderful time seeing the sights and learning more about the various areas within Paris and the city’s history. I just about wore out two pairs of shoes as I have walked so much while playing tourist. The good old On-Off Bus has also been a great way to get around, as well as the Metro, but really nothing beats walking to really see a city.
My hotel was is in the Marias district, which was once home to kings and aristocracy, so there are many amazing old historical buildings within this area. I did a walking tour of the Marais and enjoyed it so much that I intend doing another one next time I visit.
Also visited Monet’s home and garden in Giverny. It was lovely to see the gardens and Lilly ponds that inspired so many of his paintings, especially after visiting the Orangerie Museum where a number of his paintings are housed.
