If a European holiday is somewhere on your list for 2027, when you book matters almost as much as where you go. Here is what I tell Toowoomba clients who are starting to plan.
Flight prices generally climb as a route fills, and the best value fares out of Brisbane are usually gone long before the flight itself sells out. The same goes for popular hotels, tours and cruise cabins in the most sought after European destinations, they sell out at the good prices first, then at any price, then not at all.
Nine to twelve months ahead is a sensible window for the best combination of price and choice, and longer again if your travel dates sit inside European summer, which is also peak demand season for flights out of Australia. At the moment, Singapore Airlines through Singapore is my most booked route out of Brisbane, and I also book plenty of clients on Qatar Airways through Doha and Emirates through Dubai.
Popular hotels and cruise itineraries in peak European season, especially river cruises and well known Mediterranean routes, can book out twelve months or more ahead. Celebrity River Cruises is a good example of exactly this right now, their sailings are already nearly sold out for all of 2027, less than a year after the line launched. If you already know roughly when and where you want to go, locking in accommodation or a cabin early protects both the price and the choice of room or cabin category.

You have more breathing room. Shoulder season trips can often still be booked well six to nine months out with good availability, though booking earlier still tends to mean better pricing and a wider choice either way.
Not at all, it is close to ideal timing for a mid to late 2027 trip. There is no fixed date where prices jump overnight, pricing on flights, cruises and accommodation moves dynamically with demand, which in practice means it generally only goes one way the longer you wait. Starting now means you capture pricing before that demand builds, and you get first pick of cabins, rooms and dates rather than whatever is left.
Start with a rough idea of timing and what you want the trip to include, then let’s build a shortlist and lock in deposits on the pieces that are likely to sell out first, flights, popular hotels or a cruise cabin, while prices and availability are still wide open.
A few early bird offers are running right now, with cut off dates either 31 October or early November depending on the offer. If any of these suit, it is worth acting quickly.
Pricing and availability on all three are subject to change, so treat these dates as a guide to check rather than a guarantee.
The earlier we start, the more options you have, in price, in timing and in choice. Get in touch and let’s map out your 2027 European holiday properly.
