    Itinerary

    Day 1

    Dublin, Ireland

Tour majestic St. Patrick’s Cathedral, where Jonathan Swift is buried, and stroll through lovely St. Stephen’s Green, a beautiful city park immortalised by James Joyce in Ulysses. The magnificently decorated Book of Kells is on display at the venerable Trinity College. For more secular pursuits, tour the Guinness Storehouse or the Jameson Distillery and learn the secrets to making great Irish beer and whiskey.

    Day 2

Cruising the Celtic Sea and English Channel

    Day 3

    London (Tilbury), United Kingdom

Take a trip up to London and get a bird’s eye view of the city from the London Eye. See sights like Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Piccadilly. Stroll along Lower Regent Street or visit the British Museum.

    Day 4

    Antwerp, Belgium

The two most recurring sights in Antwerp are the works of local sculptor Peter Paul Rubens and hands, which adorn everything from the town flag to the local Belgian chocolates. The hands symbolism is explained at Brabo Fountain in Grote Market Square, which depicts the soldier that severed the hand of a mythical giant who bullied the townspeople by taking tolls. Antwerp is also known for its beautifully preserved Gothic and Baroque architecture, which includes the Cathedral of Our Lady, a masterpiece of lacework in stone on Groenplaats public square.

    Day 5

    Rotterdam, Netherlands

Rotterdam holds the impressive title of Europe’s largest port, and that vibrancy extends throughout the city. To get your bearings, go up the Euromast and Space Tower, the highest point in the Netherlands. Riding a small boat through the many channels and waterways provides another unique perspective. The only truly historic sections are the 17th-century Delfshaven and Oude Haven; the rest of Rotterdam boasts highly contemporary, often whimsical architecture. For a respite, enjoy the Arboretum Trompenburg, a garden oasis of more than 4,000 plants. Art from Dutch and Flemish masters such as Rembrandt can be seen in the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.

    Day 6

    Kiel Canal Transit

    Day 7

    Wismar, Germany

Established in the 13th century, Wismar’s medieval town centre was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002. The town centre is one of Germany’s largest marketplaces and is surrounded by a variety of elegant buildings built between the 14th and 19th centuries. The town hall houses the impressive Rathaus Historical Exhibition detailing Wismar’s history and heritage with artefacts including an original 15th-century mural and a glass-covered medieval well.

    Day 8

    Cruising the Baltic Sea

    Day 9

    Stockholm, Sweden

Spend a marvellous day discovering this lovely city and its beautiful buildings. Visit the charming Old Town, medieval Gamla Stan, the elegant royal palace, the wonderful parks and the impressive Vasa, the magnificently restored 17th-century warship that sank in the harbour on her maiden voyage.

    Day 10

    Helsinki, Finland

Admire the city’s stunning modern architecture, visit its lovely parks and bustling open-air market. Take a harbour cruise past forests, beaches, villas and a ruined Suomenlinna fortress that spans five islands. Or visit historic, colourful Porvoo, Finland’s second-oldest town.

    Day 11

    St. Petersburg, Russia

Explore breathtaking St. Petersburg and cruise its canals. Visit the Peter and Paul Fortress, the fabulous onion-domed cathedrals and the palaces – from the immense Winter Palace, now the Hermitage Museum, to the fabled Catherine’s Palace and Peterhof outside the city. Enjoy an evening of ballet or traditional Russian song and dance or take a day trip to Moscow.

    Day 12

    St. Petersburg, Russia

    Day 13

    Tallinn, Estonia

Step back in time as you walk through this beautifully preserved medieval town and discover its upper and lower levels, the guild houses, the churches and squares, the famous apothecary shop and the exquisite town hall. See delightful parks, Baroque palaces and a ruined 15th-century convent. Or visit a lovely recreated rural Estonian village by the sea.

    Day 14

    Cruising the Baltic Sea

    Day 15

    Copenhagen, Denmark

See another side of this lovely city with a cruise along its charming canals. Visit the quaint old harbour at Nyhavn and beautiful Rosenborg Castle and, of course, the famed statue of the Little Mermaid. Or venture into the countryside and enjoy its panoramic vistas, fairy tale castles and the village of Fredensborg.
