You will have lunch at Hai Hoi House before your transfer via sampan along the canal to your boat. Cruise back to Ham Luong pier.

    Day 4

Saigon – Hue by flight – Hue city tour

This morning you will fly to the formal imperial city of Hue. Today you will go on a city tour of Hue. The tour includes a visit to the Royal Citadel, which was constructed by Emperor Gia Long. It was built in the style of French military architect Vauban during the first decade of the 19th century. The citadel contains the Imperial city and the Forbidden Purple City, the emperor’s private residence. You will then visit Khai Dinh tomb, one of the most beautiful in Hue.

    Day 5

    Kite Making class and charity

Today you will have a 60-minute kite making session. Kite making has been a tradition in Hue for more than 200 years. Hue kites are varied in shape and completely handmade. Later in the day you will visit a Vietnamese orphanage and homeless center at Duc Son Pagoda.

    Day 6

This morning your guide will pick you up and take you on a 160km journey towards Danang. You will view the scenic mountains of Hue, spectacular coastlines and the dramatic Hai Van Pass. As you continue your journey south to Hoi An you will stop and visit the Marble mountains.

    Day 7

    Hoi An walking tour

This morning your guide will take you on a walk through Hoi An old quarter. Your walking tour will include a visit to a private house, where members of the same family have lived continuously for centuries in a traditional setting. You will also visit Sa Huynh Museum which contains exhibitions from the earliest period of Hoi An’s history as well as a famous Japanese covered bridge pagoda. It was first constructed in 1593 by the Japanese community of Hoi An to link the town with the Chinese quarters across the stream.

In the morning, make your own way to Hai Scout Cafe to join your cooking class. Visit Hoi An’s colourful market, and experience the amazing sights, sounds and aromas of this busy market. Here you have the opportunity to interact with the local vendors and purchase some of the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later.

Board the Red Bridge boat for a leisurely cruise along the Hoi An River to the Red Bridge Cooking School. This is a chance to view local river life, so make sure your camera is handy. On arrival, you’ll explore the cooking school’s herb and vegetable garden, before learning about some of Hoi An’s and Vietnam’s well-known dished. The cooking lesson runs for approximatively 2 hours – each dish is first demonstrated by the Red Bridge chef before preparing the same dish yourselves. Included in the class is a brief introduction to Vietnamese food carving (plate decoration).
