Arrive into Christchurch and check into your accommodation for the night. Your time is free to explore the city this afternoon and evening. Maybe check out on the local restaurants on Victoria Street West.
Today your journey takes you west across the Canterbury plains. This scenic drive offers stunning vistas as you travel along side the ice-fed Waimakariri River and traverse the Southern Alps. Once on the West Coast stop for lunch in Greymouth or Hokitika as you venture further south to the Glacier region.
Ticking off a bucket list experience today you’ll helicopter on to the Fox Glacier and spend a couple of hours exploring the ice formations, caves and crevasses.
Travel north again to your next overnight destination of Lake Brunner. On the way stop for a walk through the rainforest at the West Coast Treetop walk and a great photo opportunity is the Hokitika Gorge.
As this is your last day in New Zealand, head back to Christchurch and return your car hire before your flight back home.
