    Itinerary

    Day 1

    Arrive Colombo

    On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Colombo. In the afternoon, tour Colombo by vintage open top Jeeps, covering historical colonial era buildings, a Buddhist temple and Pettah market.

    Day 2

    Minneriya National Park

    This morning, transfer to Dambulla/Sigiriya, our base to explore the local cultural and wildlife sites. In the afternoon, head on a canter safari in Minneriya National Park to photograph elephants drinking water in the backdrop of large lakes. Numerous other wildlife that can be sighted include buffaloes, leopards, crocodiles and numerous species of mammals and reptiles.

    Day 3

    Sigiriya Rock Fortress

    Rise early to head to Sigiriya Rock Fortress. After, proceed to Polonnaruwa Ancient City where you will spend the day visiting the monuments in the medieval capital including the Royal Palace, Audience Hall, amongst others.

    Day 4

    Temple of the Tooth

    This morning, enjoy a visit to another UNESCO World Heritage Site, Dambulla Cave Temple. Afterwards, continue to Kandy for an evening City tour including a visit to the Temple of the Tooth relic.

    Day 5

    Kandy

    Today, you will be taken to a celebrated photographer’s home to re-live Sri Lanka’s recent history through photograph. Your host will present his imagery in his own laid-back yet intimate living room. Spend the rest of your day at leisure in the bustling streets of Kandy.

    Day 6

    Nanu Oya By Train

    This morning, you will proceed to Nanu Oya by train. This is a very scenic train route where you can photograph from the moving locomotive through tea plantations and villages. The railway line was built during their colonial days to transport tea to Colombo Port. On arrival in Nanu Oya, spend the night at leisure.

    Day 7

    Nuwara Eliya

    Leave for Horton Plains National Park early this morning with a picnic breakfast. Visit the scenic Baker’s waterfall and spot Samber Deer in the grassy plains. Later, take a walk in Nuwara Eliya town to photograph British built bungalows and tea estates followed by visit to a tea factory to witness tea production.

    Day 8

    Yala National Park

    Depart early this morning to head to Sri Lanka’s best-known National Park, Yala. On arrival, you will experience a half day jeep safari where you may be able to photograph a wild Elephant, Leopard, Bear, Crocodile and Wild Boar. Spend the night within the National Park in an all-inclusive property.

    Day 9

    Stilt Fishermen

    Rise early for a morning game drive and another chance to see the amazing wildlife. Later, it is off to Unawatuna Beach to see the Stilt Fishermen practice the age-old traditional fishing technique.

    Day 10

    Whale Watching

    Wake up early to go Blue Whale watching on the Indian Ocean with a picnic breakfast on board. This afternoon is at leisure to relax by the beach.

    Day 11

    Galle Dutch Fort

    Spend the morning at leisure in Weligama. This afternoon, visit Galle Fort and explore the town, home to many picturesque cafes, bars and antique shops.

    Day 12

    Depart Colombo

    After breakfast, you will transferred to the airport where your arrangements end.
