    Day 1

    Kolkata - Barrackpore

    Meet your guide at your hotel in Kolkata, then transfer to board your cruise ship. Sail past the old Danish colony of Serampore to Barrackpore to land and and take a walk through the cantonment – past the Semaphore Tower, Government House, the Temple of Fame and Flagstaff House.

    Day 2

    Chandernagore – Hooghly

    Chandannagar was established as a French colony in 1673, when the French obtained permission from Ibrahim Khan, the Nawab of Bengal, to establish a trading post on the right bank of the Hughli River.

    After breakfast disembark and enjoy the visit of the 18th century church and Dupleix’s House, the erstwhile Governor-General of French India.

    Return back to the cruise ship and sail towards Hooghly. Visit the imposing Imambara at Hooghly. With verses from the Koran written on its walls, the Imambara is an opportunity to step back in time and relive a slice of Islamic history in Bengal.

    Day 3


    Disembark the ship in the morning and explore Kalna. Enjoy a rickshaw ride to explore the local places famous for terracotta temples, also stop at the Shiva temple. Then, visit the vast new ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) temple which dominates the skyline.

    Afterwards, return to the ship and sail towards Matiari.

    Day 4


    Enjoy a morning visit to the Matiari village and explore the primitive process of brass work. Later, cruise on and visit the battlefield of Plassey. The Battle of Plassey was a decisive victory of the British East India Company over the Nawab of Bengal and his French allies on 23 June 1757.

    Day 5


    This morning disembark to visit Kushbagh (a Moghul style garden) and the tomb of Siraj Ud Daulah as well as the Hazarduari Palace. Continue and visit the Katra mosque, the Nashipara Palace and the Katgola Palace.

    Day 6


    After breakfast disembark and visit the village of Baranagar with its three gorgeous miniature terracotta temples.

    Day 7


    After breakfast disembark and go on a full-day excursion by road to Gaur, near the town of Malda, or English Bazar. There are plentiful remains of mosques, palaces and gateways and you visit a number of the most interesting

    Day 8

    Farakka – Kolkata

    Journey approximately four hours by train from Farakka to Kolkota and transfer to hotel.
