Five things you may not know about Snow Safaris

Five things you may not know about Snow Safaris

We at Snow Safaris have spent many seasons at Big White sampling all the local cuisine, searching for all the best ski runs (Some are not listed on the map!) and testing out the resort activities on our  kids.  It’s a tough job! We love this place and know why it is voted one of the best ski resorts in North America. And we want you to love it too!

Day 5 Host day

It’s not just when you arrive that your holiday with Snow Safari begins.

Before you depart home, we make sure you have everything in place for an amazing family ski holiday. From guidance on what to pack, confirming dinner reservations for your first night in Big White, any extra activities you would like to prebook, groceries orders, assistance with  babysitting, any rentals required, we have it covered. We even have a sled for those little ones to make getting in and out of the village easier!

Although our tour packages are based on 2 adults and 2 children, we cater for all types of families from  single parents, extended families, grand parents, babies to teenagers, and even the non-skier in the family is welcome.

Weather is unpredictable and sadly not every ski day can be a  bluebird one. This is where our team of ski hosts excel. They are local experts and former ski hosts for Big White. They know the terrain, the secrets, and all the local stories. In the not so favourable conditions, they make sure we head to the right places to enjoy the day and on the great days they  take us to those hidden gems. These days are only open to intermediate skiers and snowboarders  though. Rest assured our hosts can take you on any terrain all the way up to double blacks (With an easy out for those not so keen!)

Day 3 Charilift

Our Hosted Ski Days are not just about the snow action though. When the resort is busy, finding lunch tables can be tricky. We have reservations in place and often with lunch pre ordered, we can sit back relax and regale over the mornings’ events. We have done all the hard work for you.

Have you ever been on holiday where something has gone wrong, or perhaps you just need someone to give you some reassurance. Our ground hosts are there to help you.  It may be assisting in  collecting the kids from ski school, or perhaps arranging to see a doctor, misplaced gear? It happens. Our aim is to help make things go right,  so you can enjoy making memories with the family.

Our evenings include group dinners but it is our private group sleigh ride to the warming hut for dinner that has been voted by our past guests as one of their favourite experiences.  Heading thru the starlight night forest, the kids all take turns in  driving  the horses… and dinner is definitely  one of the best meals on the mountain!
