Luxury cruise line Crystal has announced two key milestones in the construction of its first new ship in 25 years.
The vessel’s steel cutting is set to take place in May 2026, followed by the keel laying in December 2026. Delivery is expected in May 2028, marking the start of an exciting new era for the brand.
Construction will take place at Fincantieri’s renowned shipyards in Italy, one of the world’s most respected names in shipbuilding.
Echoing the brand’s relaunch of Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity, the forthcoming ships will be crafted to deliver exceptional comfort and indulgence. Developed in collaboration with acclaimed international design studios, the interiors will showcase premium materials, artisanal craftsmanship, and a sense of refined elegance.
Guests can expect a wrap-around promenade deck, offering panoramic ocean views and leisurely strolls as they sail to some of the world’s most picturesque destinations. On board, travellers will enjoy world-class amenities, exclusive dining venues, and curated entertainment, hallmarks of Crystal’s renowned style of enriching travel.
“Behind the scenes, our teams have been working meticulously on every element of this extraordinary project — from design and craftsmanship to technical innovation,” said Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group. “These milestones represent more than just progress in construction; they symbolise our shared commitment with Fincantieri to deliver the most exceptional ship at sea, on schedule and with unparalleled attention to detail.”
While the name of the new ship remains under wraps, Crystal has confirmed it will be revealed soon. Further details regarding inaugural voyages and suite categories are also expected to be shared before the end of the year.
At present, Crystal’s fleet includes two luxury vessels — Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity. The line has plans to add two new ships in the coming years, with an option for a third, reaffirming its position as a leader in the world of ultra-luxury cruising.
