“We cannot speak highly enough of our 6 week Europe trip and the efforts and personal service we received from Effie. We asked Effie to assist in planning a family trip of a lifetime as we had an idea of where we wanted to go but what she did was bring to reality. Organising a trip which took in London, Paris, Venice, Florence, Rome, Athens, Naxos, Crete, Nafplio and finally Santorini with a stopover in Singapore on the way home to chill wasn’t going to be easy but Effie pulled off the most incomparable experience. Effie organised and booked all our long-haul flights, accommodation for 5 (which was always going to be difficult in pleasing everyone’s sleeping arrangements), the rail experience between London, Paris and throughout Italy, ferries sailing through the Greek islands and even our tours. It was like having a personal travel guide with you on your entire trip but just invisible. She called ahead to make sure everything was set and no last minute issues for us deal with when we arrived. I’m sure the effort she went too, making sure in calling ahead and dealing with any last minute issues is why we felt like royalty wherever we turned up. Arriving in Santorini to celebrate Effie (my wife’s 50th ) and hearing our kids say “are we at the right place” you knew that this was something special and never going to be forgotten. “In March 2019 we made a last minute decision to undertake a European River cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest (or vice versa). We asked Effie to explore our options as available cruises were limited. Effie was able to provide three options with Viking Cruises (Budapest to Amsterdam) that would suit our timetable. Effie kept us informed as our options and vacancies were changing and becoming limited. We also wished to spend time in Budapest, Amsterdam, Athens, Greek Islands (Naxos and Santorini) and Singapore. For each location Effie provided three options of accommodation from which we could choose. All of the hotels recommended were of high standard and suitably located. As each booking was confirmed, Effie provided an updated itinerary and costing for our travels. Once everything was locked in, we met with Effie to collect all our travel documents which included customs documents which we could complete prior to re-entry to Australia. Our dealings with Effie were faultless and we would definitely use her services again for future travels. Your recommendation of The Handlery Union Square Hotel was spot on – very central to great shopping, eating and public transport. The hotel concierge was very helpful when our daughter had a medical issue that required seeing a doctor. We were also pleased with our one-day stopover on our way back to Melbourne at the Los Angeles Marriott Airport Hotel. The free shuttle from the airport was convenient, the rooms were very comfortable, the staff were accommodating as to a late checkout, the hotel was easily found by Uber drivers, and the Starbucks in the lobby was an added bonus.
