Hinatuan Enchanted River, Philippines
Magic and mystery often go hand in hand, and there is plenty of magic and mystery surrounding Hinatuan Enchanted River. Discovered only recently, the crystal-clear waters of Hinatuan Enchanted River are a mystery.
Every day at 3pm, the caretaker rings a bell to signal that it’s time to leave the water, then the ‘Hymn of Hinatuan’ is played and a huge school of fish emerge for feeding time. No one knows the origin of the school of fish, furthering the mystery of this slice of paradise.
Kuang Si Falls, Laos
The three-tier stone surface is home to one of the biggest natural waterfalls in Luang Prabang. Peaking at 50 metres, water cascades down the rock surface into brilliantly clear pools below.
For a different perspective, follow the trail to the top of the waterfall for a soak in the tranquil natural pools.
Erawan Falls, Thailand
Erawan Falls is truly enchanting. Known as one of Thailand’s most beautiful waterfalls, its emerald waters are undeniably enticing.
The waterfall is located in Erawan National Park in western Thailand and is made up of seven separate tiers spanning 1,500 metres. It isn’t just people who love this spot: fish swim throughout the limestone pools – if you’re lucky, they might even swim with you.
Detian-Banyue Falls, China/Ban Gioc Falls, Vietnam
What’s better than one waterfall? Two! There are actually two waterfalls, located between the Karst Hills of China’s Daxin County and Vietnam’s Trung Khanh District, on the Quây Sơn River marks the border between the two countries.
The falls have a combined drop of 30 metres and consist of three cascading tiers, two of which often combine into a single fall during the rainy season. The best way to fully experience the majesty of this natural pool is from a traditionally-made, bamboo raft.
Kawasan Waterfalls, Philippines
If you’ve spent any time on Instagram, you’ve probably come across the Kawasan Falls: it’s one of the world’s most photogenic waterfalls.
Located on Cebu Island, this goddess of a waterfall is easy to access, but we recommend you avoid heading here on the weekends when it’s at its busiest. Take your waterfall adventure to the next level by sailing under the pouring water on a bamboo raft for a waterfall massage.
