Kangaroo Island
Kangaroo Island is one of the world’s great nature-based destinations, which also offers brilliant local cuisine, small-batch wines and a leisurely way of life. As you arrive, you may be greeted by Australian sea lions basking on unspoilt beaches and koalas dozing in the treetops.
D’Arenberg Cube
During your stay in Adelaide Hills, we recommend visiting the D’Arenberg Cube. Each of the 5 levels has been carefully designed to entice and excite the senses, including features such as a wine sensory room, a virtual fermenter, a 360-degree video room and many other tactile experiences.
Home to world-famous culinary flavours and bountiful brews from across the state, Adelaide is a great start to your holiday. After you have collected your vehicle and checked into your accommodation, take some time to wander the city and discover the many hidden treasures.
Heading south you will journey past the picturesque Fleurieu Peninsula before boarding the ferry over to Kangaroo Island.
Over the next couple of days, you will be able to explore a sanctuary for wildlife and raw natural beauty. You can visit local wineries, stock up on oysters, try quality local honey, meet the wildlife with seals at seal bay and kangaroos and koalas at the wildlife park.
You might also chill out along the white sandy beaches of Emu Bay or take that iconic photo at the Remarkable Rocks.
Today you will head back over to the mainland, travelling through McLaren Valley, the birthplace of the South Australian wine industry, and Adelaide Hills which is home to some of the world’s oldest grape vines.
During your stay, a must visit experience is to the d’Arenberg winery also known as the ‘Unfinished Rubik’s Cube’ blending a museum ‘Alternate Realities’, art installations and top floor tasting room.
Goodbye Adelaide Hills! Before you go, we recommend stocking up on the local flavours you’ve come to enjoy before heading to your next destination, whether that be Adelaide Airport or the next place the road takes you.
