Arrive in Reykjavik and make your own way to the hotel, then explore Iceland’s cosmopolitan capital at your leisure.
This morning, fly to the beautiful town of Akureyri. Make your own way to the hotel. Located only 60 kilometres from the Arctic circle, the mountains in the area are often capped with snow year round, and in the winter they offer some of the best skiing in the country.
This morning after breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel at 8:45am. Today you will be entering the other worldly landscapes of Lake Myvatn where the scenes for “North of the Wall” were filmed. It becomes apparent why Game of Thrones production crew were drawn to this area as the majestic Waterfall of the Gods, Godafoss, greets you. Enjoy a day of beautiful waterfalls, volcanoes, unusual lava rock formations, steaming hot springs, bubbling mud pools and mysterious landscapes. You’ll end the day with a splash at Myvatn Nature Baths.
After breakfast fly back to Reykjavik. This afternoon enjoy a golden circle tour and visit Thingvellir, filming location for Game of Thrones season four along with Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir.
Your tour concludes after breakfast. Make your own way to the airport for your departure flight.
