Q&A with Personal Travel Manager and Disney fanatic

    Comments comments

We caught up with Personal Travel Manager Tanya Barker who has not only booked many Disney holidays for her clients, but is an avid Disney fan who has been to every Disney location around the world. Here is what she had to tell us.

Q: How many Disney Parks and Resorts have you been to?

A:  All of them, 8 in total.

    Q:  What locations were these?

A:  Hong Kong Disney, Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea, Shanghai Disneyland, Paris Disneyland, Walt Disney Studios Park California, Disneyland Anaheim, California Adventure Park and Disneyworld Oralando.

Q:  How many Disney visits all up?

A:  All up, over 50 times and I’m not finished yet.

Q:           What is the one park you have been to the most?

A:  Tokyo Disneyland. I lived in Tokyo and went about 10 times in one year.

Q:  What was your first Disney experience?

A:  Disneyland Anaheim, I was only 7 years old at the time and was magical.

Q:  Have you cruised on any Disney Cruises?

A:  I have sailed on the Disney Wish from Port Canaveral to the Caribbean three times and on the Disney Wonder from Australia three times. I am booked with another avid Disney PTM on Disney Adventure ex Singapore in Nov 26.

Q:  Have you stayed at any Disney hotels and Resorts?

A:  I have stayed at many Disney Hotels around the world including Aulani in Oahu, Grand Floridian, Port Orleans French Quarter, Boardwalk Inn, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Art of Animation & Caribbean Beach Resort all in Orlando. Along with Grand Californian and Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, Ambassador, Mira Costa and Celebration Hotel. Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Hollywood Hotel. In Paris the Disney Newport Bay Club and Hotel Cheyenne.

Q:  What would you say to someone hoping to book but not big on rides?

A:  I don’t really do many rides these days when I go to the parks. You can just enjoy the shows, characters, shopping and the atmosphere on Main Street and in the various lands. There are also rides that are very family friendly that are truly magical and won’t get the blood pressure too high. I also recommend the Walk in Walts Steps Guided Tour at Disneyland.

Q:  What can you tell us about the character dining?

A:  I have been to every character dining offering at all parks and hotels –  my highlight being Napa Rose.

Q:  Any standout moments or highlights from your adventures?

A:  Last year, we were very fortunate to get an invitation to dine at Club 33 @ Disneyland – this was a bucket list item for me.

Q:  What are some of the cuisine highlights from around the world?

A:   So many to choose from at each park and place and I have to say I’ve tried a lot the treats from classics to the quirky.

Q:  Anything else you would like to add?

A:  The biggest eye opener for me was travelling to Disneyland Anaheim in a wheelchair after an Achilles reconstruction. We were treated like royalty and looked after so well on all rides.
