Italy is a wonderful place to go for your holidays. It offers a wide array of historical sites to visit as well as numerous holiday activities from jet skiing on Lake Garda, to wine touring in the wonderful regions of Italy. If you’re looking for a trip of a lifetime, Italy truly offers something for everyone. Be sure to ask your Personal Travel Manager for their travel tips on this stunning destination.

    Venice

Venice is located in the Italy’s North East, and is the capital in the region of Veneto. It is famous for its many canals spreading through the city’s 118 tiny islands, which are all linked by bridges. Venice is regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in the world and is listed as a World Heritage Site, with more than 50,000 tourists visiting Venice every day. Visitors must make sure to visit Piazza San Marco (St Mark’s Square), which is the most famous city square in Venice. Be sure to set aside at least one day to experience the famous canals of Venice.

    Leaning Tower of Pisa

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a medieval construction located in the city of Pisa. The construction of the tower started in 1173, and continued over the next couple of centuries. It is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Italy.

The tilt occurred during construction due to the ground being too soft on the one side of the foundation. Don’t miss out on this spectacular structure and dare yourself all the way up to the top!

    Colosseum

Rome is a city with an immense cultural heritage, and there are plenty of sites and locations worth visiting. One of them, and probably the most famous monument in Rome, is the Colosseum, or the Coliseum. It is the largest amphitheater in the world with its heritage stemming from Roman times. Built purposefully for the entertainment of Rome’s citizens, different games were hosted to entertain the citizens of Rome and divert their attention away from political problems. The games were held for a whole day or several days in a row, and varied from comical acts and the showing of exotic animals to death fights between animals and gladiators or between gladiators. It truly is worth taking a tour through this impressive construction.

    Lake Garda

Whether you’re looking for cultural inspiration, relaxation, water sports or city touring, Italy’s Lake Garda has it all. Located between Venice and Milan, it’s an immensely popular tourist destination for people of all ages. A tour around the lake offers spectacular scenery with tunnels through the many mountains in the North. The lake offers waterskiing, jet skiing, paragliding, boat tours and much more. The surrounding mountains are excellent for mountain biking.

    Italian Wineries

Italy is a wine lovers paradise. With wine areas in every region of the country, it is the world’s largest producer and exporter of wine. With a somewhat cool climate in the north, and a warmer and dryer climate in the south, there are grapes for every sort of wine and taste.

One of the best-known wine regions in Italy is Tuscany, famous for it’s wine production and ideal location 500 meters over sea level.
