The ultimate list of fun activities on board Oceania Cruises Vista

    Share Share Comments comments

The evolution of the cruise holiday over the decades has meant that cruise ships have become just as much an attraction as their ports of call. They are more than a vessel simply to get you from port to port. Cruise lines are always looking for unique ways to make life on board inspiring and entertaining, and Oceania Cruises is no different. Launching Vista in May 2023, a brand new 1200-passenger ship, Oceania Cruises delivers on exactly that – enriching experiences and lively entertainment.

Aside from The Finest Cuisine at Sea®, what other unique features can you expect on board this dazzling and elegant new ship?

    Cooking classes

    Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic

Being named The Finest Cuisine at Sea®, it makes sense to have a Culinary Center on board. Expertly led, hands-on cooking classes delve into regional techniques and local cooking secrets of the places you visit. We recommend pairing this with one of the Culinary Discovery Tours™ you’ll find in your list of shore experiences on offer. Classes are at an additional cost and can be booked at Destination Services on board.

    Art classes

Creative energy flows best when you are relaxed. Surely that means there are few better places to join an art class than on a cruise. The Artist’s Loft is located at the forward of deck 14 and offers a range of classes throughout each sailing. Art classes can be pre-booked and there is no additional cost. We were lucky enough to take part in an acrylic pouring class with the Artists in Residence on our own recent Vista sailing. While the genres of art vary, you’re sure to leave with a unique memento of your voyage.

    Art gallery

Since we’re on the topic of art, let’s talk about the art gallery. We don’t mean a dedicated space – Vista itself is 15 decks of art. From the stairwells to the guest bathrooms, the only way you can miss the beautiful art on board is by closing your eyes. With intricate glass designs, paintings, large marble sculptures and elegant light fixtures, it’s the art on board Vista that makes it as elegant as it is.

    Lync Digital Center

Don’t let technology leave you behind when it comes to sharing your travels with your loved ones back home. Vista’s Digital Concierge runs interactive workshops which are all about connection including social media essentials, smartphone videography and travel photography. The centre is also a quiet and comfortable space to stay in touch with loved ones and business back home.

    Sports Deck

You’ve just returned from your latest offshore experience and local lunch, and the sun is shining. You could of course lounge on the pool deck with a good book. But if you’ve still got a little energy to burn, head up to deck 15 where you can challenge your companion(s) in a range of sports. With shuffleboard, pickleball, a putting green, fitness track, paddle tennis, bocce and croquet court, you have hours of entertainment ahead of you. Play in your own time, or look out for organised tournaments where you can win Big O Points which can be accumulated and redeemed for prizes at the end of your cruise.

    Trivia and Mensa Quiz

Speaking of Big O Points, these can also be won at onboard trivia. Bring your companion(s) along and test your general knowledge against your fellow cruises each afternoon in the Vista Lounge. If you fancy yourself a bit of an intellect, stick around after trivia and test your IQ with the daily Mensa quiz. Oceania Cruises is one of the few cruise lines that partner with this leading global society.

In addition to the above, there are of course the tried-and-true features. There’s the Fitness Center and Aquamar Spa and Vitality Center for the health and wellness conscious. Bookworms will love the Library with its large collection of books and board games. And there’s a wide variety of world-class entertainment from pianists, classical string quartets, dynamic vocalists and spectacular headliners.

With so much to do on board, you’ll need at least a week just to experience it all! Talk to your personal travel manager about your first voyage aboard Oceania Cruises’ elegant new ship… Vista.
